About Space Marine Heroes Series 2
Space Marine Heroes Series 2 was a collectible line of push-fit Terminator miniatures released by Games Workshop. Each box contained a single, randomly selected Terminator from the Blood Angels Chapter’s 1st Company, making them a fun blind-buy experience for hobbyists and collectors alike.
Brother-Captain Donato is one of the standout models in the range. As a Terminator Captain, he wears the iconic Tactical Dreadnought Armour — the heaviest personal protection available to the Space Marines. His loadout of combi-melta and power fist makes him a versatile threat, capable of cracking open enemy armour at range and pulverising anything that gets too close in melee.
The Build
The Space Marine Heroes kits are designed as push-fit models, meaning they can be assembled without glue — though a bit of plastic cement always helps for a cleaner finish. Captain Donato comes on a small sprue with just a handful of components, making him a quick and satisfying build. The sculpt captures the bulk and menace of Terminator armour beautifully, with sharp detail on the power fist’s knuckle guards and the combi-melta’s twin barrels.
One of the highlights of this kit is the head options. You can build Donato with his helmet on for that classic faceless warrior look, or bare-headed to show the grizzled veteran beneath the ceramite. Both options look great and give you a chance to practise painting faces if you choose the bare head.
Is It Worth Picking Up?
The Space Marine Heroes Series 2 line is now out of print, which means these models can be tricky to find. If you spot one at a reasonable price, it’s well worth grabbing — especially Captain Donato, who makes an excellent character model for any Space Marine army or a fun standalone painting project.
